Hitchcock Nature Center
Overview
Located in the globally significant Loess Hills, Hitchcock Nature Center protects 1,268 acres of prairie, woodland, and wildlife habitat, including some of Iowa's largest remaining prairie remnants. Open year-round, the park offers four-season recreation, including hiking, camping, bird watching, picnicking, and scenic views from its observation tower. Visitors can stay in the modern campground, cabins, or lodge and enjoy seasonal programs such as HawkWatch, Monarch butterfly tagging, mushroom hunts, and night sky viewing. For even more outdoor adventure, Crescent Hill at Hitchcock offers nearby winter tubing and skiing.
