Step back into time as you visit the Monroe One-Room Country Schoolhouse in Walnut, Iowa. This small, one-room, building once was the school for the children that lived in Monroe township from 1931 until 1949. Today, the museum is maintained by the Walnut Creek Historical Society and features numerous artifacts from the school’s past including photographs, books, furniture, school supplies, and more.
