Perfect for beginning gardeners and anyone who is interested in supporting native plantings in their outdoor spaces, Gardening for Diversity will give you the confidence and background knowledge you need to grow a beautiful native garden that supports local wildlife and provides other great benefits for you and your community! Not all plants are appropriate for every site and learning what species will flourish at your site helps with the longevity and health of your garden. This third session covers what you need to consider to choose plant species that will thrive and reweave the food web. The light, water, and soil conditions of your site, the size of your garden plot, the region you live in, and your budget are all important in choosing plant species, numbers of plants, and seeds vs. plugs. Gardening for Diversity sessions are free for all attendees, but pre-registration is required. Ages 14+. Please meet in Meeting Room B at the library.
