No better place to talk about a park than at the park, and Lake Manawa is the topic and the venue for a program Sunday, May 7, at 3 pm. The History of Lake Manawa, from its formation to its days as the "Mecca of the Midwest" to its isolated neighborhood community to today as part of Council Bluffs, is a fascinating tale. Fish and Game President Jon Barnes and historian Troy Stolp will take you on a journey of history and tales of the people who made Council Bluffs their vacation spot and finally, their home. The program will be held at the large picnic shelter on the south side. There are picnic tables at the shelter but please bring your own lawn chairs if possible.
